Home Visits in Manhattan
What are some of the reasons clients choose to have a home visit?
Nipple pain (which although common is absolutely not normal), low milk production, too much milk, baby not latching, prematurity, feeding multiples, feeding after breasts/nipple surgeries, feeding a baby with congenital birth defects, and sometimes just having reassurance that all is going well.
In the comfort of your home, I will observe a full feeding. We will find the most comfortable place for you and your baby to feed and the most comfortable position for you and your baby. We will work on achieving a deep latch. I bring a scale with me which is accurate down to 0.2 grams (0.1oz). This will allow us to see exactly how much milk your baby is transferring when breastfeeding.
We will work on identifying the efficiency of feeds, discuss how often to feed, and go over pumping in great detail.
Based on what I observe during the session, I email you a detailed care plan. I also provide my clients with all the necessary insurance forms to submit to insurance.
A consultation usually lasts about 1.5-2 hours.
The fee for a home visit is $550. ($575 for multiples) and $500 for a follow-up ($525 for multiples).
I continue to offer my support and allow unlimited communication between us, through email, text, and/or phone calls, throughout your breastfeeding experience and beyond.
Office Visits in Manhattan
If you prefer to be seen outside your home, or if you reside outside Manhattan, I also provide office visits. I have an office in the Flatiron District.
In a beautiful, cozy setting, I offer all of the same services that I do at a home visit.
A visit typically lasts 1.5-2 hours.
Fee is $500. ($525 for twins). A follow-up office visit is $450. ($475 for twins).
Breastfeeding Support Group
(In Person)
In a safe, calm, non-judgmental group setting, mothers can bring their babies and address their breastfeeding issues, questions, and concerns. From nipple pain to low milk supply, a need to supplement your baby’s feedings, your baby’s weight gain problems, and much more, I will answer your questions, help adjust the latch and positioning to make breastfeeding more comfortable for you and your baby, and weigh the baby before and after a feeding to see how much milk they are getting. You will get a chance to leave your apartment, address your baby’s feeding issues, and meet other mothers in similar situations.
Masks are required.
Groups are usually held on Fridays 9:00-11:00 a.m. The initial visit to the group is $60 and $50 thereafter. The existing private clients fee is $40. The location of the group is Manhattan Valley Pediatrics on the Upper West Side.
Please be aware: Pre-registration is required to attend.
Virtual Visits
Phone/Virtual Postpartum Consultation
If you want to discuss your breastfeeding concerns in depth, ask questions, and discuss a plan but don’t require me to observe you feed your baby then this is the option for you.
This is also a great option for those who want to address pumping and go over pumping together in great detail.
The fee is $300 and usually lasts about 1-1.5 hours.
Virtual Prenatal Consultation
If you have any questions or you have concerns regarding an issue you want to discuss in-person and in-depth prior to the birth of your child, we can schedule a virtual consultation. Some issues I address are: breastfeeding following breast/nipple reconstructive surgeries, breastfeeding multiples, breastfeeding after a negative first time experience, breastfeeding following any trauma, breastfeeding following breast cancer and a single mastectomy, breastfeeding while dealing with mental health disorders, breastfeeding and dealing with a history of eating disorders and many more.
These consults typically last 1 hour and the fee is $300.
Virtual Consultation
A virtual consultation includes a full and comprehensive intake and full assessment of feeds as well as an evaluation of pumping. It requires the breastfeeding mom to have another person present to assist her during the consult as I ask the camera’s aim to change throughout the consult for the most complete and accurate assessment. After the consult, you will get a full detailed care plan tailored to your specific needs. I also provide you with complete lactation Superbill and claim forms for ease of submission.
I allow unlimited communication by phone, text and email for the entire breastfeeding experience through weaning.
The fee for a virtual consult is $450 ($475 for twins), and is about 1-2hrs in length, case depending. A follow up is $400. ($425 for twins).
Not including feeding
If you need a consultation to address any issues you are facing which don’t require observing a feeding and pumping the fee is $250.
